Transfer case conference

Key points

When a child whose name is on another authority’s Child Protection Register moves into Scottish Borders a transfer in case conference will be held within ten working days of official notification that the family are making a move to the area. This conference will transfer the registration and agree a protection plan. Should the family circumstances be such that the risk is significantly reduced as a result of the move an early review can be considered but there should be enough time allowed to ensure the family and child are safely settled in the area. A transfer in case conference can not deregister a child.

A Child Protection Case Conference requires the attendance of Integrated Children’s Services, social work and at least two key agencies to be quorate.
