Procedures and Guidance for Specific Circumstances

The Basic Safeguarding Procedures apply in all circumstances and in every setting when a parent, professional or any other person has concerns about the welfare of a child. This includes children living away from home as well as with their family, and relates to concerns about abuse by other children as well as a range of adult carers and other professionals. Concerns can also relate to abuse that has happened in the past, as well as to contemporary events.

This section outlines some special considerations that apply to safeguarding children in a range of specific circumstances.
